A partial day with Metro

Wednesday, October 29th, 2008

Today I travelled in Delhi Metro from Dwarka Sec-9 to Rohini East and back. Had to board 3 trains however the 1 hr 45 minutes journey(one way) was a treat which I would not like to indulge in more often(my own reasons). Engineering marvel is what I had to shout it out loud in my mind when I reached and strolled through the Rajiv Chownk Station. Indeed beautiful. It has made life so easy and reduced the distances as well. At least you can now commit someone about your arrival timing with more surety. I am really impressed.  On my way back a sign board attracted my attention :-)

What the board is telling?

Not sure what it meant to inform the passengers. Probably waiting for the painter to finish his/her job. Anyways the experience was really good.

Manzilein unhi ko milti hain …

Manzilein unhi ko milti hain, Jinke Sapno mein Jaan hoti hai,
Pankhon se kuch nahi hota ae dost,
Hauslon se udaan hoti hai

Never been a day dreamer as such though love to dream whenever I could….rather if I could. Heard these lines so many times yet never thought of getting into details until now. Whom so ever had written these lines must be an optimistic. Hard to find such people these days.

Hauslon se udaan hoti hai :-)

Sam Manekshaw, a Soldier’s General

Friday, June 27th, 2008

Though he called it off before I was born however it is a well known fact the Field Marshal never retires and the rank is conferred for life. I guess in Sam Maneskshaw’s case it will be till eternity.

I have heard so much about him that getting to know that he is in comma and subsequently parted ways with life left me sad. Indeed a hero he was or rather he is. We will surely remember his contribution forever to what we are at present. Thanks Sam. I will miss you.

Khalil Gibran, The Prophet

Thursday, June 19th, 2008

Recently I had a chance to read some of the work of Khalil Gibran……

Amazing ! How beautiful a person could think and write. I read Ghalil Gibran’s The Prophet.  He simply portrays his belief in the overwhelming power of love in human nature. Outstanding indeed. One of his poem that I liked a lot was on Children. Indeed worth reading and relating …

Your children are not your children.
They are the sons and daughters of Life’s longing for itself.
They come through you but not from you,
And though they are with you yet they belong not to you.

A Night out with myself

Sunday, June 15th, 2008

For me taking out time for myself is a luxury which I cannot afford at any cost. I believe it is for anyone who is into too many roles at the same time and trying to do justice to each one. :-) Aadat ho gayee hai ab to.

After such a long time I listened to sufi kalam… I do not have words to express the feelings. bahut hi badiya.

Check this out.

Become an Ex

Saturday, May 31st, 2008

31st of May is celebrated as the World No Tobacco Day. It is not a special but basically just another normal day when we think about the well being of the mankind. We think about our children and we think about our next generation which is yet to see this beautiful world. A quote I read from a site

“The world is beautiful, but has a disease called man”
